The Organic Cave, a new, healthy bakery recently opened in St. Peters, Missouri, has been awarded the step-forward award from Massage School San Diego, in honor of its contributions to the healthy living industry. MSSD, a supporter of San Diego massage therapy school, recognizes The Organic Cave’s unique offering of raw organic chocolate, healthy cakes, and Paleo diet-friendly treats with this award.
Opened on Dec. 2, The Organic Cave offers a plethora of healthy baked goods to meet the demands of the local healthy living community in St. Peters, Missouri. Currently on the bakery’s shelves are: raw organic chocolate cake; lemon poppy, chocolate chip and orange carrot walnut muffins; cherry almond bites; rocco chip cookies; garlic cheddar biscuits; and a Paleo bar. Owner Nichole DiGuiseppi is working to offer bread soon, as well. All items are intended to go along with the Paleo diet and, before opening, could be found at local spots such as the Lake Saint Louis Farmers Market, Picasso’s, O’Fallon Nutrition and the Local Harvest Bakery.
St. Peters is a city located in Eastern Missouri. It was incorporated in 1910 and currently boasts a total population of more than 52,000. Previously a small farming town in the early to mid-1900s, St. Peters has grown to more of a suburban community in recent decades. The city encompasses just over 22 square miles of land, and its current mayor is Len Pagano.
Missouri is a state in the Central region of the Unites States. It is often considered one of the “Midwest” states. Missouri has more than 69,000 square miles of land and a population of 6 million residents. Previously called the Missouri Territory, the state joined the Union in 1821, making it the 24th territory to do so. The state’s capital is Jefferson City, while its biggest cities are St. Louis, Columbia, Kansas City and Springfield.
Paleo, also known as the Paleolithic diet, is a diet trend inspired by the eating habits of cavemen. The Paleo diet mainly consists of fresh fruits and vegetable, as well as meat. Not included on the diet are grains, dairy products, sale, refined sugar or oils. The diet first came about in the 1970s by Walter L. Voegtlin.
