Wickenburg, AZ (PRWEB) October 09, 2012
The Meadows trauma and addiction treatment center in Wickenburg, Ariz., is offering a limited time discount through December 31, 2012, to cover travel and lodging costs for two people to attend Family Week at The Meadows while a loved one is in inpatient treatment. The Meadows will also pay for a patient’s round-trip travel costs to attend The Meadows’ inpatient treatment.
Family involvement in the treatment process plays an essential role in The Meadows’ program and is considered to be a significant aide in long-term recovery for patients. It is designed to assist patients and family members in developing a healthy family system.
During Family Week, the patient and family members explore family relational issues in a safe, nonjudgmental environment with a focus on understanding and shame reduction. Activities include work on family genograms, art therapy, boundary work, assisted dialogue and enhanced communication skills and experiential therapy. The Meadows’ experience has shown that when family members work together in support of one another, dysfunctional cycles and intergenerational patterns can be broken and reconciled.
“The holidays can be a stressful time for families, particularly if a loved one is in treatment,” said Jim Dredge, CEO for The Meadows. “We don’t want any of our families to forego Family Week because of additional financial obligations. Our “Helping Hand – Reconnecting Families” holiday offer will help reduce the cost of their inpatient treatment.”
