The Rainmaker Group, the leading provider of revenue management and profit optimization solutions to the multifamily housing and gaming/hospitality industries, announces the appointment of Tom Barham as chief financial officer (CFO). As a key member of Rainmaker’s executive team, Barham will help the company’s continued growth and success by optimizing capital structures, raising capital, and improving and enhancing the company’s financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
“As The Rainmaker Group continues to move into new development and business ventures as well as expand our existing products and services, it is important we have not only an expert in financial management at the helm but, more importantly, someone who also understands how to grow an asset,” said Amar Duggasani, executive vice president, strategy and business development for the company. “We believe in Tom as his previous successes are not only impressive but precisely what we are looking to achieve at Rainmaker. We are excited to engage in taking the company to the next level with Tom’s assistance.”
Barham brings extensive CFO expertise combined with deep knowledge gained through 25 years of business experience to his role at Rainmaker. During his tenure as CFO for Miller Auto Parts & Supply Company, a wholesale distributor, he completed $30 million in refinancing of a senior asset-based credit facility, $9 million in refinancing of subordinated debt, and the successful divestures of three major subsidiary businesses, and major restructuring of remaining operations. While at BCD Travel, Barham implemented financial reporting solutions and processes, completed multiple bank financings, mergers and acquisitions helping to grow the company from a $120 million regional travel agency to the world’s third largest corporate travel management company with more than $14 billion in sales and operations in 23 countries.
“I’m so honored to be part of such a high caliber organization like Rainmaker,” said Barham. “I believe my expertise in finance, accounting, and mergers and acquisitions across a variety of industries will enable me to help guide the company into the most strategic financial direction possible by assisting in the identification, evaluation and implementation of new business strategies and opportunities.”
Mr. Barham graduated from the College of William and Mary with a BBA in Accounting in 1985. He passed the CPA exam in Georgia in 1986.
