A January sale is an event that the majority of consumers expect both online and high-street retailers to do – it’s almost a given. Many even save the money they get given for Christmas in anticipation of the sales; so it would be a pretty bold move not to offer any additional discounts.
Toolbox.co.uk was more than happy to undertake the annual January sale and did so in fashion. With thousands of products on the website slashed up to 50% in price, there were hundreds of bargains to be had for any type of buyer. Whether buying for a significant other or treating them self to a small belated Christmas present, Toolbox offer a wide enough range to cater to the pickiest of shoppers.
“When I look at January sales, I always seem to find myself wading through items that couldn’t sell over the past year and I find this to be extremely annoying,” explains Lee Taylor. “So instead of following the crowd and promoting our January sale with items no-one wants, we actually discounted a wide variety of our best selling products.”
For those that do want to look at some of the clearance deals (which are mostly last season products) at extremely low prices, look no further and check out the clearance section on the Toolbox website.
Scott Morris, E-Commerce Manager commented on the traffic and sales over the last month: “Since we started promoting the sale at the beginning of January, our traffic levels and sales have increased far more than we anticipated. Click through rates on emails have nearly doubled, couple that with an extremely strong organic ranking in search engines and an optimised pay-per-click strategy; it becomes easy to see why this has been so successful!”
He went on to add: “Due to the sale being beneficial to both the business and our customers, we’re looking to extend a portion of it for the coming months. However, this is still in the pipeline and nothing will be decided for a week – but be sure to check back for the latest updates & discounts!”
It sounds like it’ll be worthwhile bookmarking the Toolbox homepage and checking back every now and then to keep an eye on the latest discounts.
The Toolbox website is currently ran from the constantly expanding Online Home Retail Network which at present hosts around 50 separate websites. These niche websites sell everything from leaf blowers, snow shovels and even plant pots; all can be found at: http://www.gardentoolbox.co.uk. Online Home Retail Limited first started out as Plumbworld Ltd back in 1999 and since then it has been bought by the Grafton Group PLC in 2006 and received a major rebrand in 2012. The business now employs 60 people in its purpose built warehouse/offices and has a total turnover nearing £25 million per year.
