On a particularly warm day, visitors can cool off by paying a visit to the polar bears in the chilly Polar Bear plunge, or witness some reindeers grazing in their arctic habitat behind the exhibit.

2.) Baseball Game at Petco Park:
Summer months are when the baseball season starts to intensify all over the country, and attending a baseball game at state-of-the-art Petco Park is a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon or evening in San Diego. This ballpark opened up in 2004 and has quickly shot up the list of the most desirable stadiums in the U.S. - with breathtaking views of the San Diego harbor, the Coronado bridge and the city skyline that even non-baseball fans will love seeing. Cheer on the Padres or another favorite MLB team at one of the games, and be sure to leave room on the itinerary for time to explore the Gaslamp District, San Diego’s lively neighborhood with some of the best nightlife, culinary delights and luxurious San Diego hotels.

3.) La Jolla Shores:
No list of San Diego summer attractions would be complete without at least one beach to check out. Locals and tourists alike flock to the San Diego shore side in the summer to take advantage of the area’s natural beauty and La Jolla Shores is one of the most popular local beaches. La Jolla Shores is known for its stunning scenery, rugged cliffs and refreshing Pacific Ocean waters that are perfect for a dip. After visitors have had their fill of the beach, they can go for a stroll and discover what La Jolla, a charming coastal community, has to offer. Stop for a meal at one of the delicious San Diego restaurants in the area and try to score a table overlooking “the Cove.”
