River Runners, a Colorado rafting company on the Arkansas River with locations in Buena Vista, CO and Cañon City, CO, has announced it will offer a 25 percent discount to travel agents for next year’s whitewater rafting season to run May 1 - September 2 (Labor Day), 2013.

Travel agent Colorado rafting discounts at River Runners start at 25 percent off half-day and full-day rafting trips through the Royal Gorge, Bighorn Sheep Canyon, The Numbers and Browns Canyon; and 10 percent off on all Arkansas River overnight rafting trips, according to Eileen Peterson, operations manager at River Runners.

“These discounts allow travel agents across the country to book whitewater rafting trips in Colorado and make a profit,” Peterson explained. “They can choose to pass some of the savings on to their client or cash in on a 25 percent commission.”

Travel agents can request a discount rate sheet by calling River Runners at 800-723-8987, according to Peterson. She said travel agents can simply book and pay for the rafting trips on behalf of their client and River Runners will take care of the rest.

“We will send an e-mail with details on where to go, what to bring, and other important information that can be passed on to the client,” Peterson said. “When the client arrives we collect waivers, provide a safety orientation, supply rafting equipment and transport them to and from the Arkansas River.”

River Runners can accommodate a high volume of rafters with two large facilities on the Arkansas River, more than 70 self-bailing rafts, eight buses and all the rafting equipment needed to run at capacity, according to Peterson.

“As many as 600 people have rafted at River Runners in one day without a hitch,” Peterson explained. “We average 20,000 rafters each year and take pride in our personalized customer service and streamlined operations.”

River Runners has been whitewater rafting on the Arkansas River since 1972. Travel agents can book half day, full day and overnight rafting trips on intermediate or advanced whitewater from two locations: The River Runners Riverside Rafting Resort in Buena Vista, CO or the River Runners Royal Gorge Rafting Center in Cañon City, CO.
