Good news for the community of North Kirklees, as the plans to build more than 25,000 new homes by the end of 2028 and the plans for the creation of new business spaces were announced by Kirklees Council.
All these plans come as part of the new LDF (Local Development Framework) that the council presented and that showed that this great investment will create many thousands of jobs.
UK Knack Group has welcomed this news as the facelift the city will benefit from will not only make it more attractive for investment but it will also boost the local economy by creating thousands of jobs within the forthcoming years.
UK Knack Group has also learned that 55 hectares of land located in the north of Kirklees have been allocated for new offices and businesses. This means that potentially around 3500 jobs can be created in Birstall, Cleckheaton and Chidswell with much better transport links via the M62 and over the Pennines.
Coun Mehboob Khan, council leader, commented that it would be very difficult to protect the areas they want to protect if this framework agreement didn’t exist. But thanks to it, they will ensure that the development for businesses and homes will be appropriate.
“We are all very happy with this announcement, as it is something that our economy really needs in order to recover from the crisis we are still going through,” commented the Managing Director of UK Knack Group.
