Candia, NH (PRWEB) March 29, 2013
Candia Vineyards expects to have an excellent crop this spring and summer as warmer weather helped the vines survive the winter months.
Candia Vineyards’ grape vines should see a very good bud survivability ratio because of warmer weather this past winter. The low temperature this winter was six degrees warmer than normal at their NH Winery. The recent cool weather at Candia Vineyards is expected to keep the vines in dormancy, which will delay bud breaking. This is advantageous for the vineyard as well.
The annual growth cycle of a grape beings in spring with bud break – when buds on the vine start to swell and grow. Growth accelerates when the weather is warmer. The recent cool snap means that Candia Vineyards can expect a fine bud break this year.
Candia Vineyards grows 14 varieties of grape vines and are the first in New England to grow some of the new cold-hardy varietals. They specialize in 100 percent grape wines. Candia Vineyards is home to New Hampshire’s only vault reserve wines. They began making wine in 1981, followed by test plantings in 1993 and vineyard development in the late 1990s. Today, they are New England’s only winery with a world ranked label.
Visitors are invited to join this fine New Hampshire Winery for tastings or tours, learn about their special wines and vines and amazing aromas, which have made them famous around the world.
