Advanced Cabinet Systems (ACS), a manufacturer of Division 12 Plastic Laminate Casework and Retail Store Fixtures, has partnered with the North East Florida Educational Consortium (NEFEC) to sponsor the 15th annual Foundation for Rural Education Excellence Golf Outing. The fundraiser benefits member school districts of the NEFEC. The NEFEC is a regional educational service agency and aims to help member districts achieve their goals. The event takes place April 26th, 2013 at the Magnolia Point Golf Course in Green Cove Springs, Florida. “ACS is excited to be a part of an event that helps schools educate students by preparing them for college and beyond,” says Jay Higgins, Director of Casework Sales for Advanced Cabinet Systems.

The mission of the Foundation for Rural Education Excellence (FREE) is to help ensure achievement of academic excellence and career opportunities for rural students in Northeast Florida and is a supporter of the NEFEC. “The Barfield Group, ACS Casework Dealer for the Florida territory, and ACS are privileged to partner with the NEFEC! The NEFEC is such a great agency; it bands local educational districts together for a common goal. Their programs such as BRIDGES and STEM add value to the students, and we’re glad to be able to help out!” says Higgins.

“FREE will host 90 golfers this year. The golfers range from district school personnel, business professionals, and community members,” says Shay Starling, Associate Executive Director of the NEFEC. The proceeds raised at the event will be used by FREE to assist in their mission and help local schools that are part of the Consortium.

The NEFEC utilizes member district superintendents to serve on the Board of Directors for the Consortium. The NEFEC prides itself in tailoring to the needs of all of the school districts being served with participation completely voluntary.
