The PFA Andy Carroll Facebook page.
(PRWEB UK) 1 September 2012
Digital Sports Group are today launching the PFA Profile of West Ham striker Andy Carroll. DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk. It was today the turn of West Ham’s Andy Carroll to see his official PFA Profile.
Despite becoming a favourite amongst the Kop, Carroll struggled for goals and form during his time with Liverpool, scoring only 6 league goals in his 18 months with the club. His greatest moment in a Liverpool shirt was scoring the winning goal in Liverpool’s 2-1 FA Cup semi final victory over rivals Everton. His form towards the end of the season earned Carroll a call up for the England squad for the Euro 2012 tournament, where he scored a ‘bullet header’ goal in England’s 3-2 group stage win over Sweden.
On 30 August 2012, Carroll signed on a season-long loan with West Ham United with the club having the option to make the deal permanent for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2013.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say “Carroll will have no shortage of fans after his deadline day move to West Ham.”
“Of course a player with Carroll’s talent requires a certain level of respect and responsibility and he is sure to be a major hit with fans on Facebook.”
Digital Sports Group will provide further PFA player profiles for every professional footballer in England. The Andy Carroll Facebook Page is now live.
