Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 18, 2013

Dr. Farooq Ashraf, an Atlanta LASIK surgeon and the founder of the Atlanta Vision Institute, is pleased to announce that he is offering his patients access to the next generation of Intralase LASIK equipment, the iFS™ Advanced Femtosecond Laser. Currently, the Atlanta Vision Institute is the only LASIK practice in Atlanta to offer its patients this new technology, and for a limited time, Dr. Ashraf is giving his patients a complimentary upgrade to the Advanced Femtosecond Laser. Ordinarily, procedures done using the new equipment would be $1500 more than those using the last generation of technology, but to celebrate the acquisition of the new laser, Dr. Ashraf wants to make the procedures performed with the new generation laser available to everyone.

“We are so excited to be able to offer these procedures at no extra charge,” Dr. Ashraf said Monday. “We are the only practice in Atlanta to offer the iFS™ Advanced Femtosecond Laser, and all of us at the Atlanta Vision Institute really think that more people should have access to this great new technology.”

The iFS™ Advanced Femtosecond Laser is an improvement on the previous generation laser in that it works at a faster pace with lower energy output. These features allow Dr. Ashraf to perform procedures more quickly, while reducing the amount of inflammation that his patients experience on their eyes. The new laser also allows him to create more precise adjustments to the eye, and to create a bevel-in edge on the corneal flap, which creates a stronger bond. The laser also has features that allow Dr. Ashraf to better treat patients with astigmatism.
