Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) January 17, 2013
The Real Estate Marketing Insider named Baltimore as the newest member of its Markets to Watch list, which keeps track of the best real estate markets for residential and middle-class housing. REMI added Baltimore to the list after it was reported by the Baltimore Business Journal that Baltimore’s home sales and home prices both rose steadily in December, continuing an almost year-long trend of growth.
The Baltimore area, home to the famous Inner Harbor and Camden Yards, has steadily become one of the nation’s fastest-growing housing markets after the 2008 crash. In December, the area saw a rise of almost 13 percent in home sales and a 6.9-percent increase in home prices. This growth marked the eleventh month of year-over-year increases in home sales. Condo sales grew by a commanding 41.5 percent year-over-year, with single-family and townhome listings also gaining strength. Topping off the good news for Baltimore, the average market time for a home on sale dropped over 25 percent.
Baltimore has always had the traits of a premiere residential market, with a vibrant metropolitan community, unique cultural offerings, a central and attractive location, and extensive suburban housing options. While the extent of the blue-collar workforce in the area meant a heavy impact from the housing crash, the area has rebounded, and now presents a great opportunity for both realtors and homebuyers. With relatively low housing prices but strong, robust sales numbers, REMI recommends the Baltimore area as a Market to Watch for all of its readers.
The Real Estate Marketing Insider added Baltimore to its ongoing list of Markets to Watch, which monitors the strongest residential and middle-class real estate markets around the country. REMI cited Baltimore’s inspiring growth in home sales and pricing, and examined the advantages for Baltimore residents, like location, community, and cultural options.
