Discerning buyers are attracted to Beyern Wheels in the first place by our reputation for precision engineering and improved performance

BMW owners demand that the marque stay at the forefront of automotive technology in pursuit of unmatched driving performance. Accordingly, Beyern Wheels, manufacturers exclusively of aftermarket BMW Wheels, is committed to harnessing the latest wheel technology to give drivers an added edge. In the case of their best-selling one-piece Spartan BMW Rims that means employing rotary forging.
Rotary forging, while more complex, results in a wheel that is both dramatically lighter weight than a conventional cast alloy wheel, while also being stronger. A rotary forged wheel is created from an initial cast of a special aluminum alloy spun at high speed under intense pressure. This fundamentally alters the molecular properties of the alloy, which creates a much tighter grain structure than found in a standard cast wheel. The resulting mechanical strength allows Beyern manufacturing engineers to reduce the thickness of the barrel, reducing unsprung weight. Because the weight saving occurs to the outermost circumference of the wheel, rotational mass is dramatically lowered, enhancing vehicle performance and handling.
“We know that purchasers of BMW custom wheels ultimately make their choice based on appearance,” observed Terence Scheckter, president of Beyern Wheels. “But discerning buyers are attracted to Beyern Wheels in the first place by our reputation for precision engineering and improved performance,” he added. That being said, the Spartan BMW wheel is a stunner. With its octet of “tuning fork” spokes, and choice of finishes —classic chrome, progressive matte black or in silver—the Spartan has such a distinctive visage that many BMW owners will find it the perfect complement to their “ultimate driving machine.”
The Spartan wheel is available in sizes including 17-inch, 18-inch, 19-inch and 20-inch diameters. In each size, two widths are available, giving BMW drivers the added option of specifying a staggered footprint. In a staggered footprint, the rear wheels and tires are wider than the front setup. This giver the vehicle a more aggressive stance, and improved off the line and lateral acceleration.
Beyern BMW Wheels are engineered for precise and perfect fitment to the full range of BMW models, and offers variations in each wheel diameter and width for three important variables. Pitch Circle Diameter is the diameter of an imaginary circle drawn through the center of the wheel’s boltholes. A precise PCD ensures a stable, vibration-free ride. Offset is the difference between the actual mounting plane of the wheel and its physical center. Accurate offset is essential to assure the tire and wheel fit inside the wheel well without interfering with suspension, brake or body components. Finally, Bore is the diameter of the center hole that fits over the vehicle’s center hubs. BMWs have either a 72.56mm or 74.1mm bore.
The Spartan is the newest of seven distinctive models of Beyern wheels for BMW, each of which can be previewed in the online Beyern BMW Wheels configurator at beyernwheels.com. The same web location features a gallery of over 200 images uploaded by actual customers, showcasing a wide variety of Beyern wheels on the full range of BMW models.
