The hilarious theater production has won a total of nine Tonys, one of which gave the show the honor of being named as Best Musical. It has been amusing audiences with its high amount of levity since premiering on Broadway in 2011. Missouri theatergoers are eager to acquire seats for one of 16 performances taking place at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in midtown St. Louis. SuperbTicketsOnline.com has added many tickets to the inventory to keep up with demand for seats.
The show has generated a great deal of attention and has received its share of high praise for many features but especially for its choreography, musical score and story. The production is touring across the United States in such cities as Boston, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Des Moines, Rochester, Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, Baltimore, San Antonio, and Washington, D.C. It is also still running on Broadway at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre for another year and possibly beyond that time. The Chicago production is scheduled to remain at the Bank of America Theatre until September 8 of this year. St. Louis performances at Fabulous Fox Theatre will begin on February 19 and end on March 3. Matinees and evening performances are provided for theatergoers with busy and varying schedules.
The musical is a religious satire that tells an amusing tale for mature audience members to enjoy. Besides the nine Tony Awards that the show picked up, the Broadway recording with original cast members also won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. The album reached position number three on Billboard charts, making it the highest on the charts for a Broadway cast recording in a span of more than forty years.
The creators of the musical, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, also creators of South Park, have had an interest in both the Mormon religion and musical productions. It was only fitting that they would take these two topics and put them together in order to make a thoroughly amusing production. Book of Mormon tickets have been steady sellers since the inception of the musical and will likely continue to sell at a regular pace.
