National Nurses Week, celebrated annually on May 6-12, recognizes the crucial role nurses fulfill and the significant impact they have on patient wellbeing. Brookhaven Retreat’s nurses are deeply involved in the mental health recovery of its patients, and in May, it celebrates the care and compassion they demonstrate daily for the women in its program.
Brookhaven Retreat’s nurses interact with women suffering from emotional and addiction issues from the moment they enter treatment to the moment they depart the facility. The women in its residential program rely on nurses for everything from detox needs to medication management and supervision of prescription changes.
Having reliable and caring staff significantly impacts women’s recovery by creating a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to repair and recover. Brookhaven Retreat’s nursing staff is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to provide the best care and assistance for the medical needs of its clients.
Nurses work closely with Brookhaven Retreat’s medical director, psychiatrists and clinical team to provide the best possible individualized care for each woman in its program. In addition to medical care, Brookhaven Retreat’s nursing team also provides classes on medication management and healthy habits.
This week, Brookhaven Retreat honors the commitment and dedication of its nurses with a luncheon in their honor. On May 9, all staff and nurses will gather to thank the nurses for their contribution to the medical team’s excellence.
Brookhaven Retreat’s nurses are some of its longest-standing and most dedicated employees; many have been with Brookhaven since the opening of its facility. Brookhaven Retreat is honored to work with such skilled and dedicated employees and looks forward to many more years with its outstanding nursing team.
About Brookhaven Retreat
Brookhaven Retreat is a women's treatment center nestled on a naturally beautiful 48-acre site secluded in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains. It has helped hundreds of women across the United States overcome depression, trauma, anxiety, substance use and a range of other behavioral health challenges. Brookhaven’s Founder, Jacqueline Dawes, has predicated its gender-specific treatment on “healing emotional breakage” for women. In this way, she has established a sanctuary and a place where women can feel safe, secure and cared for by a staff of highly trained professionals.
