Ticket Process is thrilled to announce that they have become the official sponsor of The California Sports Report. The weekly Internet radio show is based on the West Coast and covers all facets of sports throughout the entire country in an entertaining and humorous way over the course of 60 minutes. It airs live on Wednesday evenings and can be listened to on-demand anytime. Links to all shows and more information can be found here.
The show is hosted Skye Dickenson, a sportswriter and author who has covered NCAA football, the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA Tour and NHL for various sports and news outlets around the globe over the past three years. The California Sports Report was launched in early January and is already garnering thousands of listeners. A natural wordsmith, Dickenson begins each show with a brief poem, focusing on everything from the latest news to early 20th century greats. “I have a blast doing this show – it’s easily one of the most enjoyable hours of my week. We put a lot of work in up front, then just go out and have as much fun as we can in an hour,” said Dickenson, adding, “I am so appreciative that so many people are checking this show out. It’s very exciting.”
Dickenson is a graduate of UC Davis, and he recently became the first alumnus to speak at an annual technology conference at the University, where he explained to faculty and staff how he makes a living as a writer in the digital age. He will be joined regularly on The California Sports Report by co-hosts and fellow sportswriters Alex Grotewohl and Lindol French. The three have developed an on-air chemistry after joining forces throughout 2012 on a weekly MLB-based show, Full Count Pitchout. Dickenson opted to expand the format to the entire sports world when given the chance, and the show has quickly garnered a national following.
Figures from the sporting world will appear on the show on a regular basis. Last week’s guest was former New York Yankee and Washington National Nick Johnson, owner of a career .399 on base percentage. Johnson gave many peeks into the activities of a MLB player over the course of the interview, including the fact that players often retreat into the dugout after they make an out to study the video of their at-bat in hopes of making immediate improvements.
Ticket Process has quickly become one of the Internet’s hottest destinations for tickets to all North American sporting events, and The California Sports Report is quickly becoming one of Internet radio’s hottest sports shows. Both parties are thrilled to have forged such a logical partnership.
