Chicago, IL (PRWEB) January 19, 2013

The Chicago personal injury lawyers of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. today announced an essay contest for law school students that will award $5,000 in scholarship money, including a $2,500 top prize.

Patrick A. Salvi, a veteran Chicago personal injury attorney and managing equity partner at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C., said the firm will award eight separate scholarships to deserving law students who write winning essays about either cerebral palsy or motor vehicle accident topics posed by the firm.

The Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. / SalviLaw.com Law School Scholarship Essay Contest is open to students who are 18 years old or older and enrolled in an American Bar Association-approved institution, the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General’s School or any law school provisionally approved.

Entries must be original essays and 750 to 1,500 words long. The essay must be posted to a blog or website sponsored by the author’s law school or a personal blog or website by March 15.

In addition to the $2,500 first prize, the Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard Law School Scholarship Essay Contest will award a $1,500 second prize, a $500 third prize and five $100 scholarships.

The car accident essay prompts are:

  •     How has a car accident caused by an intoxicated driver impacted the life of you or a loved one?
  •     Discuss the impact distracted driver campaigns (i.e., Don’t Text and Drive) have on reducing accidents. Do these types of campaigns work?
  •     Highlight the dangers semi-trucks pose on your state’s roadways. Focus on the primary reasons for semi-truck accidents, the impact they have on innocent drivers, and what can be done to reduce them.

The cerebral palsy essay prompts are:

  •     How has cerebral palsy impacted the life of you or a loved one?
  •     What causes cerebral palsy and what preventative measures can be taken to reduce the risks?
  •     What are some of the latest developments in cerebral palsy treatment and assistive technology?

Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. is an Illinois personal injury law firm that assists victims of car and truck accidents as well as the families of children who suffer birth injuries due to medical malpractice.

“In addition to giving back through the scholarship checks we look forward to awarding next spring, we hope to raise awareness about the devastation caused by car and truck accidents and medical errors that can lead to cerebral palsy, which our lawyers at Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard P.C. see every day,” Salvi said.
