Rising admission revenue will support the future growth of the industry

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 27, 2013

There has been a steady increase in the number of amusement park numbers in China over the past five years, says IBISWorld. Chinese households are looking for new and exciting ways to spend their leisure time and amusement park firms in China are getting better at marketing themselves. As a result, revenue for the Amusement Parks industry has been increasing at an annualized rate of 13.1% over the past five years to an estimated 13.6% in 2013.

The top four amusement park operators – Overseas Chinese Town Group (Happy Valley), Beijing Shijingshan Amusement Park, CITIC Group (Citic Minxk World), and Suzhou Amusement (Happy World) – account for less than one-fifth of total industry revenue in 2013. While some large-scale companies dominate certain local markets, overall, the Amusement Park industry has a low concentration level. IBISWorld anticipates that market share concentration will increase, however, as more companies enlarge their scope and operate on a nationwide scale.

Future industry growth will come from increasing numbers of domestic and international visitors, and rising admission ticket prices. Ticket revenue will account for the largest proportion of total industry revenue, IBISWorld forecasts, with revenue from in-house businesses, such as restaurants and hotels, making smaller but important contributions.
