Cold temperatures and dry air are notoriously rough on skin this time of year. Blueberries are a surprisingly smooth solution to soothing dry winter skin. The powerful anti-oxidant is one of nature’s super foods and a great way to naturally nourish skin.
This recipe for a do-it-yourself facial mask is from The Cliff House Resort & Spa, an Ogunquit, Maine hotel. The Cliff House Spa, one of the premier spas in Maine, uses native Maine blueberries in many of its signature treatments. The DIY version is a breeze to whip up using blueberries of any kind and ingredients from a local health food store.
Blueberry Smoothie Mask Recipe
1 T. spirulina algae
1 t. blueberries, puréed
1/4 cup aloe vera gel
