Marion, Massachusetts (PRWEB) February 22, 2013
Over the past several months, the residential and commercial painting experts at CertaPro Painters by ProGroup Network collected more than 30 winter hats and additional coats for the first grade class at Hayden McFadden Elementary School in New Bedford, Massachusetts. With freezing winter temperatures and the arrival of the Nemo Blizzard, for many, this donation couldn’t have come soon enough.
The blizzard known as “Nemo” swept across the northeastern United States, grounding flights, suspending trains, knocking out power, and forcing several states to declare emergency conditions. Locally, more than 10,700 New Bedford residents were without power for several days while temperatures dropped below 13 degrees and wind chill values approached zero degrees.
“We are honored to help in any way we can and are happy that more than 30 children won’t worry as much about the cold weather this winter,” says the team at CertaPro Painters by ProGroup Network.
This winter coat and hat drive is an ongoing effort in conjunction with the Marion Institute of Marion, Massachusetts to support the children of the elementary school and to better the community that encompasses the CertaPro Painters by ProGroup Network operational area. Similarly, art and school supplies, as well as Christmas gift bags were collected and donated to the classroom in December of 2012.
“We will continue to find ways to enrich the lives of our local children,” says the group. “We look forward to making this an annual event and to participating in many more programs in the years to come.”
