WakeUpBro.com has declared Austin, Texas the best city for dudes looking for love. In its latest blog, the site’s in-house dating experts shared findings from a study conducted by researchers at Sperling’s Best Places in conjunction with AXE Deodorant Bodyspray.

According to WakeUpBro.com, researchers conducted their study in 80 cities, using 24 distinct criteria including dating venues like coffee shops, bars, and bowling alleys, population density and the percentage of singles, intimate apparel stores and frequency of hooking up – to name a few.

The study drew information from currently available figures from the Census Bureau (population characteristics and statistics), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (frequency of sexual partners), Match.com (online daters), and criteria from relationship experts who weighed categories in terms of dating importance.

WakeUpBro.com reports that Austin, Texas came in as the number one dating city in the U.S., thanks to its youthful population, incomparable music scene and other factors. In order of ranking, the study found Colorado Springs, Colorado, San Diego, California, Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina, Seattle, Washington, Charleston, South Carolina, Norfolk, Virginia, Ann Arbor, Michigan, Springfield, Massachusetts and Honolulu, Hawaii as the best places to be for young singles to hook up.

Topping the list of worst dating cities is Kansas City, Missouri, followed by Wichita, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Detroit, Louisville, Greensboro/Winston-Salem, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Houston and Charlotte, North Carolina.

WakeUpBro.com’s dating experts say that although most people think the largest cities are best for dating, those places did not rank as high as heavily-populated college towns where young singles are in high concentration, and dating venues are close together and often within walking distance to apartments and dorms.

The study, called “tragically accurate” by the Wichita Eagle, says it has resulted in some people using the study as a call to action for providing more venues for people to hang out and get to know each other For more information, visit the WakeUpBro.com website or email info (at) wakeupbro (dot) com.
