Energy Curtailment Specialists, Inc., a leading authority on Demand Response in North America, announces its recent membership into the Manufacturers for Energy Efficiency Coalition. Manufacturing and industrial facilities represent the significant majority of ECS’ portfolio of DR participants and ECS will work alongside the MEE Coalition to promote the importance of practicable regulation standards within the energy industry. Together, the two organizations have a shared commitment to enhance the manufacturing and industrial sector’s energy economy via Demand Response and other ancillary energy services.
James Korczykowski, President and CEO of ECS, will represent the energy company on the MEE Coalition’s steering committee to advocate Demand Response and its role in not only keeping the electric grid stable and moderating wholesale electricity prices, but also in giving industrial facilities a competitive edge through significant financial opportunities which come from successful participation in the program. ECS also plans to address certain discriminatory regulations and measurement standards which limit the industrial sector’s involvement in Demand Response. Energy Curtailment Specialists has been an active voice against such practices, which can drastically affect manufacturer and industrial performance in DR programs.
“We are pleased to announce Energy Curtailment Specialists (ECS) as the newest member on the Manufacturers for Energy Efficiency (MEE) Coalition. Demand response lowers manufacturing company costs thereby improving competitiveness, jobs and exports. We look forward to working with ECS on addressing important issues on demand response.” - Lynn Schloesser, MEEC Executive Director
Since the company’s inception in 2001, ECS has played a key role in the development of Demand Response policy and regulatory procedures with Power Authorities such as the North American Energy Standards Board (NAESB), various ISO’s and RTO’s, and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
Jim Korczykowski, ECS President and CEO, remarked: “I am very pleased to represent ECS on the MEE Coalition’s steering group to address these pressing issues within the Demand Response Industry.
