Thousand Oaks, CA (PRWEB) January 24, 2013

CEO and founder of the strategic design consultancy RKS Ravi Sawhney will be pronouncing the opening keynote of the Interaction13 conference organized by IxDA in Toronto, on January 28th, 2013. The opening keynote, titled Our Power to Empower: the Satisfaction of Designing for Social Impact, will address designers’ unique ability to reach beyond the borders of their own talents and capabilities.

"As designers, we can look outside of our world and see that many who have had great social impact, in fact while not labeled designers, designed and impacted society, business and our world,” Sawhney says. “We, too, can be as influential as the great minds in the world. Musicians saw that their music could change the world; now, we have been empowered to change the world for the better. Creating social impact is one piece of a very large world that flows through our fingertips as we conceive and create not only new user experiences but in fact new, highly empowered users… everywhere.”

Interaction13 is a four-day global conference that attracts every year the User Experience and Interaction Design community around thought-provoking topics. The 2013 occurrence, which coincides with IxDA 10th anniversary, addresses the topic of Social Innovation with Impact.
