Author Dorothy Pisano's Kitten "Catches" Kindness is all set to join the 2013 New York Library Association on Sept. 25 - Sept. 28, 2013. What's a younger sibling to do when her older brother tells her to reverse the decision she has made? Will she obey her older brother or follow her heart? This is the big question Princess has to answer in this endearing illustrated book filled with lessons for everyone.

This book follows Prince and Princess, two sibling, inner-city dogs, as they pass a pet orphanage each day on their way home from the park. Princess develops compassion for a very sad orphan kitty that always sits in a corner behind bars, away from the other pets. Princess gets a great idea. She decides to give the kitty their favorite toy to attempt to make her happy. Prince, on the other hand, thinks this is a bad idea and asks his sister to "forget about her!" A tearful conflict arises in Princess. Will she obey her older brother, or follow the compassion deep in her heart before she decides?

In Kitten "Catches" Kindness, Pisano has written a wonderful book filled with colorful illustrations that also introduces some lessons as the dogs, their owners and the orphan pets interact, leading to a surprising outcome.
