Dr. Lazzara began his career as a private practice orthodontist. In 1985, he founded Orthodontic Centers of America, a leading provider of integrated business services to orthodontic practices. In 2002, he launched Orthodontic Education Company, where he established three ADA-accredited orthodontic programs responsible for university contributions in excess of $12 million.
Dr. Lazzara’s mission to support education has resulted in awards and accolades such as Forbes’ 200 Hot Small Companies and Entrepreneur of the Year in Florida from Inc. Magazine and Ernst and Young, respectively. Dr. Lazzara is active in his community of Jacksonville, FL, and has made many charitable donations. In fact, he was awarded Outstanding Philanthropist of the Year by Florida’s First Coast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2004.
