Since money is tight for many families, El Cid Vacations Club has compiled a number of tips for families looking to save a few extra dollars while on their summer vacation. As the summer months approach, many families will head to tropical locations, to enjoy the beautiful sands and waters of beaches. Just because a family is on vacation, does not mean they always have to spend money at tourist traps or fancy restaurants. There is plenty to do at a beach, which costs next to nothing, to do.

For kids between 8-13 years old, a cheap disposable camera can make a kid feel like an explorer for a day, taking pictures of cool seashells, sandcastles, and tide pools. El Cid Vacations Club suggests that parents make a scavenger hunt for their kids to do while having a beach day. The kids can then take the disposable cameras, a bucket, and a list to go seek out their finds. Find different colored sea shells, small fish or crabs, or even cool looking rocks.

El Cid Vacations Club points out that the beach is a great place to fly kites. Kids can either make their own, or purchase inexpensive ones from general merchandise stores, before leaving for vacation. Beaches are usually fairly windy, as there are no trees or building blocking the coastal breezes. Just be sure to keep an eye on where the kite string is, no one wants to get that caught around their beach umbrella or neck.

Tidal Pools are always full of exciting things for kids to explore. El Cid Vacations Club recommends checking out tidal pools just after high tide, when the water drifts back and the pools are still swimming with fish and crustaceans. It is important not to disturb these small micro communities, but they can easily be observed up close, without causing a disturbance. The animals the kids find may prompt them to do some post-vacation research on Wikipedia when they get home.

Families will discover new ways to vacation with El Cid Vacations Club. Each year the vacation club provides thousand of timeshare owners an unforgettable experience throughout the world. Families interested in a 2013 beach vacation should take note of the award winning El Cid Marina Beach and El Cid Moro Beach resorts, as they are coastal tropical resorts located in Mexico.
