San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) April 30, 2013

EMCO Software, a leading provider of software distribution solutions for Windows, has announced development of a new version of its EMCO MSI Package Builder, installation authoring software that helps network administrators to convert non-silent EXE setups to silent MSI packages ready for remote deployment. EMCO MSI Package Builder version 5 will have a brand-new user interface that will make the process of creating MSI packages even easier. Also, the new version of the application will include new MSI creation and repackaging options.

EMCO Software has announced development of a new user interface for its application inspired by the Ribbon UI concepts, which will simplify creation of MSI projects and generation of MSI packages. The application allows editing any type of MSI project content through visual editors. In the new version of the application, those editors will provide data sorting, filtering, search and other features that will simplify MSI content management. More information about manual MSI editing is available at http://emcosoftware.com/msi-package-builder/create-msi-package.

The primary feature of EMCO MSI Package Builder is repackaging of non-silent EXE setups to silent MSI packages. Installation repackaging is based on the changes capturing technology, which is reviewed at http://exe-to-msi.com/exe-to-msi-repackaging-introduction. The new version of EMCO MSI Package Builder will include a new option of installation repackaging called MSI wrapping. It can be used if the original installation can be installed in the silent mode. In this case, the generated MSI package will include the original installation and run it in the silent mode during the deployment.

"The new installation repackaging option that will be introduced in the new version of EMCO MSI Package Builder will help administrators to work around some of the repackaging limitations. Repackaging methods based on changes monitoring don't work for repackaging of system drivers, system patches and other system-related software. Using the MSI wrapping approach, it will be possible to deploy such type of installations silently", Thorarinn Oskarsson, CEO at EMCO Software, says.
