ShortStack recently announced the ability to view and run custom Facebook Page applications on mobile devices, and now ShortStack has released an enhancement to their mobile capabilities to include a live mobile preview mode and upload by email feature for photo uploading.
“We created this upload by email feature to reach as many users as we could,” Jim Belosic, CEO of ShortStack said. “More than 50 percent of Facebook users access their page via their mobile device so it is something we did not want to leave out of the conversation. Since it is a fairly new concept the possibilities are endless for making our mobile capabilities the best they can be.”
Before a user publishes an application to their Facebook Timeline, they can see an online preview of what their app will look like on a mobile device by clicking the new mobile icon in ShortStack’s Tab Designer. Users can also scan the ShortStack-generated QR code with a smartphone for an exact mobile preview of the application.
In addition to adding a live preview mode ShortStack has made it easier for users to upload photos to a custom app from a mobile device.
A majority of smartphone users don’t have direct file upload capabilities on their devices. This prevents them from uploading an image to a custom Facebook Page app directly from their smartphone. Seeing the need for this capability, ShortStack created the new upload by email feature. Upload by email lets users snap a photo on their phone, email that photo to a short email address provided by ShortStack, and submit it to the photo contest.
