Truly horrific emotional damage suffered by these children lead us to ask that the court send a strong message which reassures parents forced by circumstance to rely on daycare services.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) February 06, 2013
Prominent Los Angeles personal injury law firm Owen, Patterson & Owen has filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court on behalf of children allegedly victimized while in the care of a church Kindergarten and daycare center.
Court papers filed on behalf of the six children (4 girls and 2 boys) and their parents allege negligence, negligent supervision, and intentional infliction of emotional distress on the part of First Lutheran Child Development Center—associated with First Lutheran Church in the city of Carson—contributing to sexual molestation of the children by other children attending the school. A parent being represented in the complaint said his 4-year-old son allegedly received oral sex at school from a 5-year-old girl. According to allegations, there were multiple girls involved in the oral sex acts on multiple occasions.
The alleged events cited occurred inside and outside the classroom, and on multiple days.
Furthermore, in the Los Angeles Superior Court South Central District papers filed February 5, 2013, (Complaint #TC027219) attorneys allege gross malfeasance on the part of the school's management, both before and after the incidents. According to court documents, whether the facility was properly licensed, and in full compliance with regulations, is also at issue.
"This facility’s failure to supervise these small children will have a lifetime of consequences for these victims,” says lead attorney Gregory James Owen of Owen, Patterson & Owen.
First Lutheran Child Development Center announced it will be closing its doors on Friday.
More information about the situation can be found on the First Lutheran Church of Carson child sex abuse webpage on the law firms website or in this First Lutheran Church lawsuit discussion video by Greg Owen.
