The One Lap of America is a great way to share the importance of the Forge Ahead USA campaign.
Chicago, Ill. (PRWEB) April 19, 2013
On May 4, approximately 65 teams will gather to compete in this year's One Lap of America, with one Midwest-based team determined to spread an important message, Team Prefix / Forge Ahead USA. Their goal is to use the high-profile event to promote the importance of buying American-made products, supporting U.S. manufacturers, and recycling dollars back into our nation's economy.
The 2013 Tire Rack One Lap of America, presented by Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, is the modern version of the famous Cannonball Run, and will be held May 4-11. Organized by the same group of enthusiasts who pioneered the original event, today's One Lap is no kinder or gentler to its participants than the original... but it is now legal. (Each performance driving event takes place only on professional race tracks.) It is the ultimate endurance test of man and machine with high profile vehicles traveling over 4000 miles from start to finish. The Prefix / Forge Ahead USA team drivers are Steve Loudin and Tom Drewer, both experienced racers driving the ultimate American muscle car, a modified Dodge Viper SRT-10. The 8-day event will put their "Made in the USA" message in front of thousands of Americans in over a dozen states, and a dozen race tracks, providing them with an ideal audience to help spread the word.
"The One Lap of America is a great way to share the importance of the Forge Ahead USA campaign," explained Mr. Kim Zeile of Prefix, the team's title sponsor. "There is definitely a renewed interest in buying American-made products, so the timing has never been better for us to bring attention to American companies and the importance of recycling dollars back into our economy."
Forge Ahead USA is the first national campaign created to assist companies to effectively market their Made in the USA advantage. "This Forge Ahead USA message is much bigger than just putting an American-made sticker on a product," continued Zeile. "It's a national movement that pulls together manufacturing businesses, employees, communities, industry groups, and consumers. It's a true, national team effort! If you're an American company, you need to get involved and participate in Forge Ahead USA!"
Additional sponsors promoting the team's effort include: Whelen Engineering, Archer Racing, Forgeline Wheels, American Racing Headers, Arrow Racing, Tricel Corporation, K&N Engineering, CORSA Performance, PartsRack, Thule and Jason Industries.
