Just reading our blog articles and thinking about what goes into good interview answers will result in a better, more successful interview experience.

Job seekers looking for the best answers to tough but common interview questions now have a free resource available in the form of a blog article series by Career Coach Peggy McKee, CEO of Career Confidential. It is available at http://www.careerconfidential.com/how-to-answer-interview-questions-series/.
“The articles in the [How to Answer Interview Questions blog series help the job seeker or candidate think about the most common interview questions and how to answer them in a way that “sells” them for the job to the hiring manager,” said McKee. “Just reading our blog articles and thinking about what goes into good interview answers will result in a better, more successful interview experience.”
The 101-article series is designed to help candidates deliver thoughtful, positive, unique answers to difficult job interview questions.
McKee came up with the idea for the blog series after some research showed a significant lack of information online about the interview process. She believes that most job seekers don’t understand why hiring managers ask the questions they do and what they’re really looking for in candidates’ answers.
“I looked around online and everything I saw was some version of ‘this is what you should say for this question, this is what you should say for that question.’ They are usually really short answers and make everyone sound like the same candidate. I didn’t see anything that goes into much explanation of what hiring managers really want to know when they ask these questions, or anything that helps the candidate stand out with their own individual answers” said McKee. The How to Answer Interview Questions blog series aims to help job seekers structure their answers to interview questions in a strategic way without sounding like they’re ‘cookie-cutter’ candidates.
The 101 different blog articles in the series gives examples and suggestions for providing intelligent and personalized answers to challenging interview questions like:
- Why did you leave your last position?
- What salary are you looking for?
- An airplane landed in the parking lot. What would you do?
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
- Why have you been out of work for so long?
- Why are you the best fit for the position?
- Tell me about yourself.
According to McKee, most job seekers miss major opportunities to be strategic and sell themselves for the job when answering these questions. For instance, “Tell me about yourself,” is treated by most as an icebreaker—but it’s anything but that. It’s not the warm up to the first question. It is the first question. If answered strategically, it provides a golden opportunity for the job seeker to set himself apart from the competition from the very first minute. The [How to Answer Interview Questions blog series shows job seekers exactly how to answer questions strategically and confidently for 101 job interview questions.
