Pretty Bunnies, Pirate Dogs, Icy Treats and Crazy Lizards – these are just some of the fun and eye-catching new Spring/Summer styles of children’s raincoats from favourite children’s designers Hatley and available at kid’s outdoor clothing and accessories store Wellies and Worms.

The colourful new range from the Canadian family-run firm are for both girls and boys and come in a wide selection of sizes from age one right up to nine years.

All the raincoats boast terry cotton lining (78 per cent cotton and 22 per cent polyester), a 100 per cent polyurethane outer, at least two front pockets and built-in hood. They are also easily washed by machine and can be hung on the line or indoors to dry. Most styles also have matching wellington boots.
In addition to the aforementioned raincoats, Hatley also have new designs - Crafty flowers, Scribble Dots, Flying Butterflies and Summer Strawberries for girls in a range of colours such as pastel pinks, mint greens, pretty purples and vivid cerise.
Another new design, this time for slightly older girls includes a pretty gingham light pink check waterproof raincoat and a very grown-up looking classic navy version with alternating red and white buttons and contrast stitching – both for ages 4 to 10 years plus and with detachable hoods.

Boys meanwhile, if they’re not fans of pirate dogs or crazy lizards can choose from that other male obsession – trains – or an especially stunning navy and white block striped waterproof raincoat. The latter is a bold look with solid navy terry cotton lining and reflective piping on the back of the jacket. Again this is for an older age range (sizes 4 to 12 years).

Wellies and Worms owner Graham Cox said: “We’re really impressed by the new range from Hatleys. We didn’t think it’d be possible to better their previous styles, but once again they’ve managed it. We’ve already had plenty of enquiries for the bold block striped jacket for the boys while the pretty pink gingham check for girls is also proving a big seller this year."

“With plenty of rain and cold weather forecast for the next few months we’re anticipating quite a run on the new stock between now and April in particular."

Meanwhile to ensure little ones, aged two to eight, stay dry while splashing amongst those April showers, Hatley have also handily come up with a range of waterproof trousers in chexx red, bliss pink and navy blue. These are seam sealed and come with an elasticated waist, leg pocket and front draw cord.

And for the smaller members of the family, an eye-catching and extremely cute range of all in one, seam-sealed waterproof splash suits come with boot straps, built in hood and full-length leg access zip.
