Todd Scholl brings more than two decades of hospitality experience to his new role as Director of Sales and Marketing to Valencia Group’s newest property,Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza in Kansas City, MO. His extensive background in direct selling and leading a team was pivotal in his hire. Set to debut this fall, Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza will have 132 guest rooms with high-tech amenities. The property will have 5,700 square feet of meeting and pre-function space, 4,000 square feet of restaurant/bar, and 1,800 square feet of pool terrace. True to the Valencia brand, Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza will be the destination for events, offering flexible meeting space, a fashionable bar environment and a notable restaurant and pool area filled with activity. This will be the second Hotel Sorella in the Valencia Group portfolio since the brand was born with Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE in Houston, Texas in 2009.
Prior to joining Hotel Sorella Country Club Plaza, Scholl started his hospitality career as Assistant General Manager for Signature Inn Hotels. He then worked for the Convention and Visitor’s Association, Marriott International, and the Canterbury Hotel all in Indianapolis. In late 2004, Scholl then moved to Little Rock and worked for The Peabody Hotel, the only Forbes Four-Star hotel in Arkansas and served as Director of Sales and Marketing for over six years. During this time, he led the team to increased hotel revenues of $1.5 million annually, received it’s first PINNICLE award of excellence from Successful Meetings, and implemented marketing successes as RiverTop Party Series and Peabody Park. After also working for the Hyatt Regency Tulsa and the Elms Hotel & Spa, Scholl has now landed a leadership role with the Valencia Group brand.

Scholl holds a BA in Communication Studies from the University of Iowa. He has received several awards such as the General Manager of the Year for Signature Inns, Dale Carnegie Highest Award for Achievement, and Preferred Hotels & Resorts MAX award for PR and branding.
