Illusion Optical Displays announced the winner of their $10,000 Facebook contest with Barbara Wright Design. The contest allowed opticals throughout the country to submit a one to two minute video detailing why they should win a new optical with $5,000 in products from Illusion Optical Displays and $5,000 in design services from Barbara Wright Design. After open voting and judging, Blink Eyecare and Eyewear from Charlotte, North Carolina was announced as the winner.
“We are very thankful to everyone that participated and voted in the contest,” said Jamie VanDuinen, President of Illusion Optical Displays. “The decision was tough to make on our own, so it was great to see such a large response from the Facebook votes to help us choose a winner.”
Voting began on June 18, 2012 and went through the end of July. It was clear that the winner, Blink Eyecare and Eyewear, had a large following behind their hopes of winning the chance to work with Illusion Optical Displays and Barbara Wright Design. “Thank you so much,” said Dr. Charlene Henderson of Blink. “We are so appreciative, and we can’t wait to work with both of you. The support from our family, friends and patients was amazing and meant so much. We feel so lucky!”
Blink Eyecare and Eyewear is building a new office from the ground up. Their current office space wasn’t maximized properly and is lacking the flow and modern design that they are looking for in their new office. They knew that they needed a professional design to take their ideas to the next level, and they didn’t want to miss the opportunity for a second chance with their new building.
“It’s always great working with new spaces,” said VanDuinen. “We have a clean slate to help make Blink’s design dreams a reality.” Blink will first meet with Wright to design the optical and take their ideas to the next level. Then it’s Illusion Optical Display’s job to create the dispensary furniture down to the very last detail for Blink. “There’s nothing better than taking something on paper and bringing it to life,” said VanDuinen.
A press conference will be hosted at the Vision Expo West on September 7, 2012 to officially announce the new optical for Blink Eyecare and Eyewear. Watch their video entry on the right to see their story.
