Wayne Companies Paving, a concrete contractor serving Western New York and Northwestern Pennsylvania, is proud to have helped with the expansion of the LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve camp. The camp gives disabled veterans the opportunity to participate in outdoor recreational activities in a handicap accessible environment. Wayne Companies Paving has been donating concrete to the camp to help with camp expansions.
The concrete will be used in foundations for various types of buildings on the site, including lodges, a recreation hall, and a shooting range. It will also be used for handicap-accessible sidewalks. Helping LEEK is an “opportunity to give back and help make them [the veterans] whole again. This is an organization that we strongly believe in,” said Wayne representative Lisa Stephens.
Founded by veterans Ed and Lew Fisher and their wives Kate and Elaine, the LEEK preserve is located in Potter County, Pennsylvania. The preserve is completely handicap-accessible, allowing visitors to hunt, fish, and enjoy the gorgeous views of the Allegheny plateau.
