Miami, FL (PRWEB) April 09, 2013
IRA Financial Group, the leading provider of self-directed IRA LLC and Solo 401(k) Plans, announces the issuance of its most recent client alert. The client alert focused on the IRA and Solo 401(k) annual contribution limitations and deadline as well as cover recent developments in the retirement tax arena. “Our quarterly client alert is provided to IRA Financial Group clients in order to provide them with current tax filing deadlines as well as new developments in the law, “stated Adam Bergman, a tax attorney with the IRA Financial Group.
The most recent quarterly client alert focused on the deadline for making Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, or SEP IRA contributions for 2012 which is April 15, 2013. The client alert went on to detail that the maximum contribution allowable for Traditional and Roth IRAs for the 2012 taxable year is $5,000 and $6,000 for individuals over the age of 50. With respect to a SEP IRA, the maximum allowable contribution for the 2012 taxable year is $50,000.
The client alert also focused on the tax return filing requirements for a self-employed individual or small business that established a Solo 401K Plan. A Solo 401(k) Plan is not a taxable entity, thus, a Solo 401(k) Plan is not required to file an annual Federal Income tax return. However, if the Solo 401(k) Plan contains assets with a fair market value greater than $250,000, an IRS Form 5500-EZ is required to be filed. For Solo 401(k) Plans that were established in 2012, the IRS Form 5500-EZ is due by July 31, 2013.
