Reading, PA (PRWEB) April 10, 2013
Leadership Berks, a program of Alvernia University and Berks County's premier networking resource for emerging leaders and provider of leadership development in nonprofit management and board governance, is holding its seventh annual Spring Social and Program Recruitment Event at the Stirling Guest Hotel in Reading, PA on April 11th.
“This event is about connecting emerging community leaders and area professionals and raising awareness in the leadership development work we’re doing that enriches the Berks County community,” says Toni Eckert, Leadership Berks Executive Director. “Our goal is to introduce Leadership Berks alumni to prospective program recruits and area employers so they can meet the people contributing to the success of our nonprofit community and learn how our program can help them hone their skills and get involved themselves.”
A key benefit of the event is allowing guests to learn more about participation directly from program graduates. “Leadership Berks has helped over 750 community leaders enhance leadership, nonprofit management, and board governance skills,” says Eckert. “The Spring Social is a great event to connect with like-minded community leaders, provides a venue to answer their burning questions about the programs Leadership Berks offers, and highlights the many ways to get involved and truly make a difference right here in Reading.”
A social portion will kick off the event allowing guests to network, followed by an introduction from Leadership Berks' Executive Director Toni Eckert, and for the first time ever a brief performance by the Berks Ballet, a recent Leadership Berks project beneficiary. Held at the Stirling Guest Hotel in Reading, PA on April 11, 2013 from 5 to 7pm, the event is invitation only. Alumni and current participants will be in attendance to answer questions about how the Leadership Berks Program benefited them in their personal and professional development.
