Livability.com Top 10 Summer Festivals

The best summer festivals bring communities together and showcase the characteristics that make their cities unique.

(PRWEB) May 07, 2013

The best summer festivals not only encourage tourism, but also engage and inspire residents. That community spirit drives the festival’s success and is often reflected in the festival’s character. With this in mind, the Livability.com team has named the Top 10 Summer Festivals for 2013.

For the 2013 list, Livability.com editors looked for those summer festivals most connected to their host cities' identities in terms of theme, the experiences to be had and community participation. Editors also factored in a city’s other tourist attractions and amenities that can enhance the itineraries of festival-goers.

“The best summer festivals, neighborhood celebrations, and even block parties bring communities together and showcase the characteristics that make their cities unique,” says Matt Carmichael, Livability.com editor and spokesman. “Festivals are a great time to unite residents and show off for visitors.”

The festivals that made the list range in theme from music to mudbugs and roses to rodeos, but they all successfully reinforce their host city’s branding efforts, increase tourism, foster community pride and help raise money for worthy causes.
