Fine Food And Wine At The Margaret River Gourmet Escape

Enjoying food prepared by special guest chefs, long-table feast-style, with the Indian Ocean lapping at your toes truly captures the essence of the beautiful Margaret River region.

(PRWEB) October 09, 2012

The inaugural Margaret River Gourmet Escape is being held in a special part of Western Australia that has been embraced by wine and food lovers from around the world. With multi-award winning English chef, Heston Blumenthal confirmed for the Heston Icon Dinner, the remainder of the program has now been released.

The Gourmet Escape is being held over four days, from Thursday, November 22 to Sunday November 25, 2012, with events ranging from the VIP Opening Night Party, through to a sand-between-the-toes beach BBQ Lunch.

“The organisers have catered to all tastes and wallets” said Simon Ambrose from the Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association (AMRTA). “However, the Heston Icon Dinner, set in the Voyager Estate winery in Margaret river will be a festival highlight.”

Mr Blumenthal’s restaurant, the Fat Duck, in Berkshire, England, has been named the Best Restaurant in the UK by the Good Food Guide every year since 2008. In 2005 it received the honour of being named ‘Best Restaurant In The World’.

The evening has been designed to celebrate Mr Blumenthal’s achievements as well as the best of ingredients from the Margaret River region.

“On Friday 23 November ticketholders will have a rare opportunity to visit the private Fraser Gallop Estate for the winery’s unique ‘Long Lunch’” said Mr Ambrose. “However, it will be the ‘kick off your shoes’ beach BBQ lunch, to be held on both the Saturday and Sunday, that we expect a lot of activity.”

“Enjoying food prepared by special guest chefs, long-table feast-style, with the Indian Ocean lapping at your toes truly captures the essence of the beautiful Margaret River region” continued Mr Ambrose.

For those who prefer to dine among the vines, the Gourmet Village food and wine festival is being held at the renowned Leeuwin Estate Winery.
