Poole, Dorset (PRWEB) April 04, 2013
Big leaps in technology have helped to drive demand for new 13 plate cars at Jacksons Mercedes-Benz Poole, Salisbury and Dorchester.
The luxury interior of a 2013 Mercedes is significantly more hi-tech than those of models even just a few years old as drivers expect ever more sophisticated electronics.
Jacksons Group Mercedes Poole, Salisbury and Dorchester reports strong demand for 13 plate cars as buyers seek out sophisticated technology exemplified by the new E-Class:
March is always busy for the motor industry in general as drivers clamour for the new number plate, although Jacksons customers are more likely to have personalised plates so the allure of a visible 2013 registration is less pronounced.
Demand over recent weeks has been particularly high at Jacksons Group Mercedes-Benz of Poole, Salisbury and Dorchester for the new Mercedes A-Class, B-Class and C-Class – the most affordable models.
But the arrival of the sleek new CLS Shooting Brake and the new E-Class – the latter described by Top Gear as the marque’s “most comprehensive mid-life update” – have also created quite a stir.
As has the impending launch of the new GL-Class SUV. It is larger, faster and more fuel efficient than the outgoing model.
The new GL-Class is available at Mercedes Poole, Salisbury and Dorchester in two model lines: the GL 350 BlueTEC AMG Sport and the GL 63 AMG.
The GL 350 BlueTEC AMG Sport uses 15 per cent less fuel than its predecessor with 14 per cent lower CO2 emissions.
But its 3.0-litre V6 engine can still notch up 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 137mph.
Its more powerful GL 63 AMG sibling has a 5.5-litre V8 engine which takes it from a standing start to 62mph in 4.9 seconds (top speed 155mph).
Both come equipped with AMG bodystyling, privacy glass and extensive standard equipment, including the Intelligent Light System and COMAND online system.
Safety features include Collision Prevention Assist, Attention Assist (which monitors driver behaviour to prevent fatigue) and Crosswind Assist.
COMAND Online includes a DAB digital radio, CD, 7-inch colour display, hard disk drive (HDD) navigation with 3D map display and TMC (Traffic Message Channel), Speed Limit Assist, Linguatronic voice control, an SD card slot, 10Gb music register, MP3 compatibility plus Aux-in, USB and iPod connectivity.
Jacksons Group Marketing Manager Michelle East said: “March is always an extremely exciting time for us and 2013 has been no exception.
“Higher levels of in-car technology across all models have really caught the imagination of existing owners, most of whom tend to change their car every two to three years, many of them annually.
“And the sporty new A-Class is attracting buyers who are new to Mercedes – proving that they can have the marquee they really want in an affordable way,” added Mrs East, who is based at Jacksons Mercedes-Benz Poole.
