Reston, Virginia (PRWEB) May 01, 2013
Wireless infrastructure development and management firm, Milestone Communications, announced it has signed a marketing agreement with the Nottoway County School Board. Under the terms of the agreement, Milestone will market sites for potential wireless tower locations on seven school properties in Blackstone, Crewe, Burkeville and Jetersville, located in Nottoway County, Virginia.
Mobile carriers seek to develop their networks to meet consumer demand for access and capacity in the neighborhoods where they work and live. Central locations such as schools are ideal for addressing gaps in network coverage. Milestone’s tower site marketing agreements provide schools with a way to make their property available for a wireless tower program that could result in thousands of dollars of new, recurring revenue for their educational and extracurricular budgets.
Nottoway County School Superintendent, Dr. Daniel Grounard said, “we are excited about the potential for new revenue that benefits both the community and our school system. A new wireless tower equates to approximately one teacher.”
Nottoway County is located in the south-central portion of Virginia, with a population of close to 16,000. The school system is the biggest employer in the County, serving nearly 2,500 students in grades K-12.
“We are pleased to have been selected by the Nottoway School Board to include their school properties among a preferred bank of potential wireless sites,” said Milestone CEO Len Forkas. “Wireless carriers rely on Milestone as a key resource for building new tower sites on public land that can be rapidly deployed. We look forward to serving these communities with the potential for a new revenue stream and better wireless connectivity.”
Milestone currently manages more than 800 sites in Virginia, the largest bank of government tower sites in the state.
