ModuVated Cabo San Lucas 3rd annual event day helps the youth of Cabo understand the benefits of exercise and proper eating.

In March, over five hundred people, from sponsors to volunteers and participants, came out to the ModuVated Cabo San Lucas 3rd annual 5K Walk/Run event day. The events that day included several foot races of different challenging lengths: 200m, 500m, 1K, and 5K. The event also specifically catered to children, aiming to teach them about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle.

Throughout the event, students from both public and private schools, competed in an exciting display of enthusiasm and energy. Aside from the race, there were other activities such as Zumba for kids hosted by Maggie Ossorio, boxing demonstrations from X-Gym, Softball Baja Sur hosted a softball clinic, there was live music played by the Erick and Lizanka duet, and MC’s RobbyZ and Gerzon, kept the crowd entertained for throughout the day.

The ModuVated Cabo San Lucas event was a huge success. The ModuVated team is excited to reveal that the total amount raised throughout this event came was around $24,000. The earnings will be split between four local groups: Casa Hogar, The Ray Thomas Foundation, Los Cabos Children’s Foundation, and ModuVated’s latest project: Niños en Acción, a group whose mission is to provide Los Cabos’ youth the chance at leadership roles while building a self-sustainable playground.

ModuVated Cabo San Lucas event day is now a popular annual event to motivate and inspire the local community to grow into pursuing a healthier lifestyle while raising funding for charity. While the event lasts just a single day, the ModuVated team's mission to increase awareness among the kids in the area about the benefits of healthy living. ModuVated likes knowing that the funds raised are placed directly back in the hands of the community foundations that share the same objective. That alone is motivation to make next year's race even bigger and better than this year’s.

"As a group we have a lot of projects to come and if anyone wants to help us they are very welcome," says ModuVated's founder Modu Seye. "The problem of obesity and lack of health affects everyone in this community but those same people can be the ones that help. It is not about where you came from but who you choose to become. When it comes to the ModuVated team we are not only looking trying to look good physically but also be healthy and happy on the inside."

The ModuVated 5K team would like to thank all those who helped to make the 2013 race a success and look forward to doing it all again next year.
