Saudi Arabia’s location at the crossroads of vital trade routes in the ancient world has given it a rich history and vibrant culture. In Walking Without a Shadow, renowned Arab poet Mohammad Mashat invites readers on a literary odyssey deep into the heart and soul of his beloved homeland.

This collection features twenty-eight original Arabic poems by Mashat. It encompasses a breathtaking range of subjects— some his works are romantic, others explore political issues and some others offer a glimpse into the dynamics of Saudi Arabian society. The resultant work is a richly embroidered tapestry that captures the zeitgeist of the region as well as well as present day problems and aspirations of the nation, the Arabs, the world and humanity as a whole.

Compelling, thoughtful and unforgettable, Walking Without a Shadow is both a compilation of personal expressions and a poetic celebration of one of the most stunning Middle Eastern countries.
