Draper, UT (Vocus) August 30, 2010 -- In conjunction with the American Indian Services (AIS) organization, Joseph LeBaron, creative director for DegreeSearch.org, is helping Native Americans get the education they need to succeed.

LeBaron has worked with the non-profit organization, which provides scholarships for Native Americans across the United States, for six years. He says that as an executive at DegreeSearch.org, an online education search company, he values education and strives to make it more attainable to all dedicated applicants.

“I’ve designed brochures and invitations, and right now I’m working on their website to help spread their message,” said LeBaron. “Many Native Americans are eager to change their prospects and receive a valuable education that will prepare them for a better future. I believe in giving them every chance at success, which starts by getting the word out.”

Whether students are interested in online degree programs or attending a physical university, AIS raises the necessary funds to get them started. Students must match the scholarship amount from their own funds, unlike handouts programs that might devalue education.

“A college education allows you to explore many different avenues and different endeavors that a lot of people, especially the Native Americans, do not have the opportunity to experience on the reservations,” said Vanessa Arviso, an AIS scholarship recipient.

The AIS scholarship organization is helped by prominent leaders in the community who give generously to advance the cause of education, and individuals like LeBaron of DegreeSearch.org who work every day to make sure as many Native American students as possible receive the necessary funds for a quality education.
