Founded by a three families meeting in a home in 1953, Cornerstone Church of San Francisco has grown to become a diverse church community in the Mission District defined by a unique blend of traditional, non-denominational Bible teaching and an innovative use of music and the arts. After years of adding services to accommodate increasing attendance, Cornerstone Church expanded earlier this year, adding a new campus near Lake Merced at 825 Brotherhood Way. This past August marked six months since the launch of the new campus. The Lake Merced Campus is designed to complement Cornerstone’s Mission Campus by providing a more accessible location for people living on the west side of the City and the Peninsula.

With 2012 rapidly becoming memory, Cornerstone is looking forward to the Christmas Season and beyond. The December 1 & 2 weekend marked the beginning of Cornerstone’s Christmas message series, Share in the Spirit of Christmas. On December 22 & 23, Cornerstone continues their tradition of proclaiming the message of Jesus Christ via the arts with an original presentation at their Mission Campus, A Christmas Four-Told. That same weekend, Cornerstone’s Lake Merced Campus will feature a Sunday morning Christmas message from Lead Pastor Terry Brisbane. Cornerstone’s Christmas schedule concludes Christmas Eve with three candle light services (6pm, 8pm & 11pm) at their Mission Campus.

Looking ahead, Cornerstone Church will mark a number of important milestones in the New Year. February will mark the one year anniversary of the launch of Cornerstone’s Lake Merced Campus, located on Brotherhood Way on the West side of the city. Summer of 2013 will mark the 25th anniversary of Lead Pastor Terry Brisbane assuming leadership of Cornerstone Church, and the 50th anniversary of Cornerstone Church’s founding.

For the past 25 years, Cornerstone has increasingly employed Christian music, art, video, and live drama to convey the message of Jesus Christ to San Francisco. Its Mission District location currently hosts four services each weekend: Saturday evenings at 7pm, and Sunday mornings at 9am, 10:30am, and Noon. Their Lake Merced Campus, located at 825 Brotherhood Way, hosts a weekly service at 11am Sunday mornings.

In addition to it’s two campuses, Cornerstone Church also maintains a web presence via its website, Facebook, Twitter, and a weekly podcast. These provide additional points of access for members of their community, as well as for people looking for a new church home, or people who are curious about Christianity and church in general. In addition to providing information, their website also hosts an archive of past messages and video/drama presentations.
