San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) January 17, 2013
Founded by a three families in a home in 1953, over the decades Cornerstone Church of San Francisco has grown and become a diverse church community in the Mission District defined by a unique blend of traditional, non-denominational Bible teaching and an innovative use of music and the arts. After years of adding services to accommodate increasing attendance, Cornerstone Church expanded early last year with the addition of a new campus at 825 Brotherhood Way near Lake Merced. January 29 marks the first anniversary of the Lake Merced Campus’ launch.
The addition of the second location has made it possible for more people and their families to experience growth at a practical, spiritual level, and it has expanded Cornerstone’s reach and ability to proclaim the message of Christ’s love to the City and beyond. The Lake Merced Campus, located at 825 Brotherhood Way, complements Cornerstone’s Mission District Campus by providing a more accessible location for people living on the west side of the City and on the Peninsula. Attendance has grown from a core group of 100 people to nearly 300 people each week at Cornerstone Lake Merced’s Sunday morning service.
"The church exists to share the good news of Jesus Christ in such a way that people experience a growing and vibrant kind of life," says Lead Pastor Terry Brisbane, a native of San Francisco who has seen Cornerstone grow from a modest sized local church to its current multi-site expansion.
For more than 25 years, Cornerstone has employed Christian music, art, video, and live drama to convey the message of Jesus Christ to the San Francisco Bay Area. Their Mission District location currently hosts four services each weekend: Saturday evenings at 7pm, and Sunday mornings at 9am, 10:30am, and Noon. The Lake Merced Campus, located at 825 Brotherhood Way, hosts a weekly service at 11am Sunday mornings.
In addition to their two campuses, Cornerstone Church also maintains a web presence via their website, Facebook, Twitter, and a weekly podcast. These provide additional points of access for members of their community, as well as for people seeking a new church home, or people who are curious about Christianity and church in general. In addition to providing information, their website also hosts an archive of past messages and video/drama presentations.
