With the new courses, the Science Department at StraighterLine now offers 15 courses. As part of the expansion of their science department, StraighterLine now also offers students the option to choose courses led by four new science professors.

The new courses are General Physics II, with and without a lab option, Microbiology, with and without a lab option, Introduction to Environmental Science, First Aid/CPR and Personal Fitness & Wellness. The new science professors are Prof. Regina Hoffman, Ph.D. (Anatomy & Physiology 1), Prof. Dr. A Michelle Prejean, Ph.D. (Introduction to Nutrition), Prof. Dr. Kelvin Bentley, Ph.D. (Introduction to Psychology) and Prof. Nikki Epps, (Medical Terminology).

The expansion of the science department is in direct response to the increasing job demand for students with degrees in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Nursing and Healthcare fields. Microbiology was the most requested new course at StraighterLine. There are now enough science courses at StraighterLine to satisfy core science requirements for freshman and sophomore years at of most colleges and universities, as well as numerous popular science electives.
