The best pain clinics in the southwest, Arizona Pain Specialists are now recruiting for a cutting-edge FDA clinical trial. This study is being sponsored by the maker of the cutting edge device, known as the Bioness peripheral nerve stimulator.
There is no cost to the participants and they also receive compensation during the course of the study. Call (602) 507-6550 for more information and to schedule an intake appointment.
Essentially, the purpose of the Bioness FDA study is to test this innovative device for pain that is coming from a single peripheral nerve problem. This may include either pain after a surgery or after a traumatic injury.
For instance, there are times when a person receives a knee surgery and afterwords has persistent pain coming from the saphenous nerve. Or, an individual may have a carpel tunnel surgery that did not resolve pain emanating from the median nerve even though it is completely decompressed.
Another indication is shoulder pain coming from the suprascapular nerve. An ulnar nerve condition may also qualify, or a problem with the pudendal, lateral femoral cutaneous nerve, or others.
There are two components to the device. There is a very tiny wire that is implanted underneath the skin close to the area of the pain. This is performed as an outpatient and involves a very small incision for the wire placement.
Unlike a typical spinal cord stimulator, there is not a long wire attached to a battery pack underneath the skin. The battery pack for the Bioness is placed on top of the skin with an adhesive pad keeping it in place painlessly. it truly is an innovative approach to a potentially devastating problem that an individual may be having.
For instance, an individual who fails a carpel tunnel surgery may be requiring significant medication to alleviate the residual pain. Imagine getting substantial relief from the Bioness device and being able to reduce or eliminate the need for those medications?
The pain must have existed for longer than three months and the individual must be over the age of 23. The follow-up time is slightly over a year and encompasses approximately 6 visits. As mentioned, participants receive compensation for their time and there's no cost at all for being in study.
Arizona Pain Specialists has multiple locations throughout the Valley and has the best pain clinics in Phoenix and Scottsdale. The AZ pain clinics also serve Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Goodyear, Tempe, Mesa pain management, Chandler, Gilbert, Fountain Hills and more.
