Online dating website Pinstant Karma has introduced a beta website for Generation 'D' that uses Visual Interest Matching technology via profile 'pin boards' for singles to meet and connect with potential matches based on similar interests.
Building on the growing popularity of social discovery websites, Pinstant Karma doesn’t use gimmicks, essays, lengthy questionnaires or formulas – just stimulating, fun, visual pin boards that allow people to discover new and interesting matches.
“Forget about pseudoscience, mathematical algorithms, or awkward quizzes. We think people simply want to meet others who share their interests,” says the website’s Founder Doug Reffue.
“Pinstant Karma is the first dating site that lets you show your story using a visually-representative dating profile – what we call Visual Interest Matching.”
With a simple one-click icon easily installed on their Bookmarks Bar, users can easily “pin” images to their personal pin boards as they search the web. Over time, singles create self-curated, pin boards filled with images of their favorite places, special memories, tasty foods and anything else that tells their unique story.
Online dating services continue to grow in popularity. Currently over 40 million Americans use one or more online dating services – that's about 40% of the adult American single population. Nevertheless, there has been very little innovation in this space over the past two decades, with the majority of websites using the same features and user- experience.
Pinstant Karma is the first website to use Visual Interest Matching, applying the popular online pin board concept, to the social dating process. The website is specifically created for Generation 'D', the 75 million Americans born after 1980. Generation 'D' is now dating and looking for something new – and they don't want to be on the same dating sites with their divorced parents (or even grandparents).
“The twenty-somethings and thirty-somethings of Generation 'D' are looking for innovation in online dating. They've grown tired of the dating websites geared toward older adults. Using Visual Interest Matching, Pinstant Karma allows you to start conversations or just flirt with people who have posted fun or compelling images about things that interest you,” added Reffue.
Pinstant Karma's Beta-version will be available free of charge to the public throughout the summer of 2012.
Pinstant Karma is the second product release from Ten Ball Labs in Rockland, MA. For more information visit pinstantkarma.com.
