PropertyRecord.com has increased their server capacity in order to give people access to their records faster than ever before, company officials said.
“We've had increased demand from customers lately, which was slowing down our response time,” said company spokesman Josh Fraser. “This became frustrating for our customers, so we had to address the issue.”
Fraser said that in some cases it was taking three minutes or more for customers to get access to their property value records.
“That's way too long a response time for an Internet-based service,” Fraser said. “It caused some people to think that our system had frozen and caused them to click away. That's not good.”
Fraser said that the increased server capacity was a fairly expensive investment for the company, both in hardware costs and man hours, but he believes it will pay off for the company and its customers.
“Now the records they are looking for pop up in 30 seconds or less,” Fraser said. “That's much more in line with what our customers expect. We've already seen increased customer satisfaction levels.”
He said the company credits the increased demand for their records over the new year with people wanting to see if their property values have changed since 2012.
“People want to compare the values of their home from year to year,” Fraser said. “We just got taken by surprise by how much the demand increased after the first of the year. But, we've addressed the issue and there shouldn't be anymore problems.”
